Frederick Day-Lewis

Chief Geophysicist at PNNL


For 18 years, Fred Day-Lewis was a Research Hydrologist with the U.S. Geological Survey. Now, he is Chief Geophysicist in the Environmental Subsurface Science Group within the Earth Systems Science Division at Pacific Northwest National Lab. Fred has researched a variety of topics related to groundwater processes and remediation, subsurface characterization, hydrologics, and petrophysics. He currently serves as an associate editor for the journal Groundwater, and previously served as president of the American Geophysical Union Near Surface Geophysics Section and as Vice President of the Environmental and Engineering Geophysics Society. He is a Fellow of the Geological Society of America.
