Senior Research Scientist, State Geologist


The State Geologist coordinates the Connecticut Geological Survey Program to serve the earth science information and mapping needs of the Dept. of Energy and Environmental Protection and the public. Focus over the next few years is on improvements to bedrock geologic mapping, developing interpretive maps and reports for use in environmental policy, resource assessments, hazard mitigation, and environmental outreach. The State Survey works cooperatively with the academic community, professional organizations, and State and Federal partners. The Connecticut Geological Survey supports student research and applied geologic mapping through internships, part-time employment, and volunteer opportunities.
